DARLENE JACKSON

Known to most as “Dar,” Darlene is MNU’s fearless president, a nurse from The Pas, and a tireless advocate who’s been making waves for over three decades. Since 1981, Dar’s been on the frontlines of nursing and union work, earning a deep, hands-on understanding of the struggles nurses face across Manitoba. She’s a firm believer in the power of nurses to drive change, and she’ll fight like hell to make sure they work in safe, supportive environments. Always ready to speak her mind, Dar doesn’t mince words. She calls it like she sees it, no fluff, no filters. When Dar speaks, people listen.

BRANDI JOHNSON

Brandi is MNU’s Senior Manager of Communications and External Relations, and if you’ve ever sent us a message on social media, there’s a good chance she’s the one who answered. From responding to media requests to running high-impact public advocacy campaigns and everything in between, Brandi’s the one making sure the government and the public can’t ignore what’s really happening on the frontlines. She’s a master of strategy and creativity with a heart of gold, and an unmatched ability to tackle every challenge with the perfect blend of empathy and fire. She’s the voice behind the voice, and she’s not afraid to make it heard.
